Halogens

The analysis of Br, Cl and I is possible with ICP-AES at low limits of detection with the addition of an optional VUV kit. The addition of this kit does not effect the performance of the instrument for the analysis of other elements and will generally improve analytical performance for any elemental lines below 200 nm, e.g. Pb at 168 nm. Detection limits for the halogens vary from around 200 ppb for Cl and Br in water to about 1 ppm for Cl in oil.
