Jobin
Yvon offer a number of control options for the spectrometer range
including TTL control, RS232/IEEE488 interfaces, handheld
controllers, control electronics and full software controlled systems.
Four
standard controllers are available for our systems, these include the
HandScan which allows full control of the spectrometer system but
does not include any acquisition options, the DataScan and SpectrAcq
2 which are high specification spectrometer control and acquisition modules.
The
DataScan can be used with any detector with a current or voltage
output, whilst the SpectrAcq and SpectrAcq 2 can be used with all
detectors including photon counting detectors.
The
DataScan, SpectrAcq and SpectrAcq 2 can be controlled through user
written software or alternatively through our own fully featured Windows
Software.
Instruments
supplied with RS323 or IEEE488 interfaces include a example control
commands and full information on control protocols required to
control the instrument.

DataScan
The
DataScan integrates into an economical microprocessor based system
all of the essential electronics necessary for optical spectroscopy.
Through a single computer interface and a common set of programming
codes, spectrometer control, data acquisition, and I/O interfacing
can be easily configured for any classical or unique spectroscopic application.
DataScan
spectrometer controller/photometer centralizes the control of you
experiment through one single interface.
The
DataScan includes the following capabilities:
-
Complete
control of one or two Jobin Yvon spectrometers
-
Data
acquisition from 2 input channels
-
4
programmable gain settings and autoranging
-
Internal
storage of up to 5000 data points
-
Communication
via RS-232C & optional IEEE-488
-
High
Voltage for 2 detectors (optional 0-1200V)
-
8 output
and 6 input lines (TTL)
-
External
Trigger input
-
Control of
2 shutters
-
Analog
output for a strip chart recorder
-
Can be
computer controlled or via a HandScan
The
DataScan's built in microcode allows you to access any of the
system's individual functions via simple ASCII character commands.
Creation of programs for unique and sophisticated experimental
procedures are vastly simplified. You may also define a complete
acquisition from a command that permits you to send all the
parameters necessary in one step. The DataScan will then run
autonomously and hold the data in memory until it is requested.
Communications
between your computer and the DataScan can be through one of your
standard serial RS-232C COM ports or through an optional IEEE-488
interface. Both may in fact be incorporated in the same instrument.
You can use the IEEE-488 interface to communicate with your computer
while using the optional HandScan through the serial port for
non-programmed control of your spectrometer and to aid in debugging
your programs
For the
spectroscopist who does not wish to create his own programs, SpectraMax
for Windows and SpectraMax for DOS offer fully integrated
packages for control of your instrument and accessories along with
data processing.

SpectrAcq 2
The
SpectrAcq2 is not just another readout system - it's a compact, high
speed, high performance spectral data acquisition controller designed
for advanced spectroscopy and light measurement applications. The
optional photo counting detection module allows you to measure the
light level by counting photons, one by one. This method is the most
sensitive technique for light measurement. Designed to work as a
stand-alone unit or with most of the Jobin Yvon/Spex high performance
detectors with versatility at an affordable price.

HandScan
The
HandScan is a hand-held controller which will set or scan the
wavelength of your monochromator, open or close shutters, operate
motorized slits, rotate motorized grating turrets and move motorized
mirrors from up to 10 feet away! The HandScan requires the SPEX232
interface or the DataScan controller.
The user
interacts with the HandScan through direct action keys and menus. The
LCD panel prompts for the choices and parameter inputs, providing
easy control of scanning, acquisition, and accessories.
